I find I can make many different recipes with this list of goodies. From chicken parmesan to spicy honey chicken. This list gives me endless options to create exciting dishes. I’ll start sharing recipes using these ingredients, but I always think its’ nice to have a base of what to buy first.
Ramen (I usually just use the noodles in the pack)
Chopped garlic- I either buy the jar you can get or the package of frozen minced garlic cubes, helps speed up the cooking process.
Soy sauce (low in sodium usually)
An array of condiments:
Canned tomato sauce
Cream of chicken soup
Red pepper flakes

The air is crisp and the leaves are hinting at a change… must be fall. Fall is is my favorite season for many reasons but the big two are the fashion and Halloween. The fashion is a perfect mix cozy and chic! And Halloween is my #1 holiday, I live for the decorations, costumes, and scary movies. So with the weather starting to change I thought I would round-up my fall favorites!
Voesh Pedicure in a Box Duo – Pumpkin Spice: I will share an unpopular opinion, I do not like, actually I loathe, pumpkin spice lattes. Sorry if you love them, but not my thing. But pumpkin spice scent, I can get behind that. And this Voesh Pedicure in a Box is perfect! I tried it, just this week and it was easy to follow and really helped revive my feet. I think it’s a great option if you don’t feel comfortable or can’t go to a salon yet. It really makes a difference.
This next one is the perfect pairing with the Pedicure in the Box, the Conair Foot Spa. This foot spa offers a soothing vibration massage while keeping the water warm. I recommend putting in warm water to begin with because it won’t heat the water up that much, but it does keep it nice and toasty. The vibration level is perfect to soothe your aching feet.
Next I always have a moisturizing face mask for this season. My skin gets really dry when the seasons change and I need to apply a moisturizing mask multiple times a week. I love Clinique’s Moisture Surge Overnight mask. It does a great job at hydrating my skin without making it oily. It’s a thick mask that blends into the skin, giving it a much needed drink of moisture!
I’ve recently been playing with the Versed Day Dissolve Cleansing Balm. It contains eucalyptus oil and vitamin E, which helps soothe the face will easily dissolving your makeup. In the past few months I have stopped using cotton balls/pads with makeup remove. It’s too harsh on my skin. But this cleansing balm definitely does the trick for taking the day’s face off.
And to round out my Fall favorites I have to talk about the best leggings ever. Aerie’s Offline Real Me High Waisted Leggings. I have multiple pairs of these and they are some of the comfiest leggings I own. They don’t get pills like other leggings and the black color stays black. They also have enough stretch, but don’t stretch out.

I cannot believe its been 1 year since I started my GoodLandKitty blog. The time has flown by, but also seemed like forever. Over the last 6 months my blog has taken a backseat to everything going on in my life. Between quarantine, moving, and trying to setup and enjoy our new place, I just did not seem to find the time to write. But now I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of posting weekly and can’t wait to share all the ideas that have been buzzing around in my head.
One way I have stayed busy creatively, was doing the #31daysofoutfits over on my Instagram (@Good_Land_Kitty). I wanted to challenge myself to wear more of my clothes, especially during quarantine. I had been living (like most people I think) in my sweats. And as August approached I thought “I have all these cute,summer clothes I haven’t worn, and before you know it, it’s gonna be snowing”. Getting up everyday and picking out an outfit was something I had not done in months, because I did not need to. While this was nice at times, I think it also affected my productivity. I was staying in my pj’s most of the morning and only changing into sweats when I needed to feel a bit more put together. I missed picking out outfits. That was always my daily creative outlet and I realized I needed it back in my life. At times it was hard to style an outfit since I was not leaving the house, but I think that challenge pushed me to be even more creative.
I invested in some “fancy” activewear that felt more like clothes instead of sweats, but were just as comfy. This Adidas Originals skirt has become a new favorite of mine. I can dress it up or down, and it’s super comfy to wear while working from home.
Tie Dye also became a staple in my wardrobe. And became a fun project to reinvent old clothes I wasn’t wearing anymore.
I also rediscovered my love of cheetah print. And have become obsessed with finding anything I can in cheetah print.
But by far my new favorite thing I bought this summer, was this pink maxi dress from Zara. I wore it any chance I could for big events. The dress is a beaufitful bold, pink that comes to my ankles. It has thin straps that criss-cross in the back, with a straight across neckline. And it even has pockets! It truly is the perfect pink dress.
Now, with summer coming to a close, I’m looking forward to Fall fashion. I have a sweater obsession. I would say my favorite sweater style currently is a cropped cardigan. And I am on the hunt for some colorful ones to add to my collection. Like in violet or magenta. I am also trying to track down a sweater vest. No, not a nerdy sweater vest, but one that is a bit flowy and a good layer to add to an oversized button-down. I’m also excited that leather is still very in. I bought a pair of faux-leather joggers last year and they are the best thing for a cold day. Fall is probably my favorite season to dress for.

I have recently found that most of my bras I currently own…I love wearing. Weird, right? And it got me thinking why do I love these bras? Why do they fit properply? And what made me buy them? So I thought I would share my bra-buying journey.
First thing, I asked to be measured, which is recommended every 6 months. And to tell you the truth my correct size was not what I thought I was. I always like to be measured before buying a bra, but it had been over a year. Many places offer measuing: Aerie, Victoria Secrets, and Nordstrom. And I know some people may find it awkward to have yourself measured, but in all honestly it takes 2 seconds. They measure you over your shirt and take 2 measurements: band and bust. The band measurement is just above your bust, right about where the straps meet the top of the cup. The bust measurement is at the fullest part of your bust.
Next, I took the time to try on multiple different styles of bras. Now most people may do this, but for me I am a creature of habit. I will buy the same thing if I like it and that is especially true for bras. But this time when I was looking the salesperson brought me a few other options and it got me thinking maybe my bra style choice was not the best for me? My advice is try as many different styles as you can because some days one style feels better than others.
Next, understand what your “sister size” is. This is something new to me and is very valuable to know. Sister sizes are groups of bra-size equivalents that are related by cup volume. And since everyone has varying breast shape, band size and cup size, that rarely means you fit one exact size. Understanding what sizes are equivalent for you can help you find a better fitting bra.
Finally, I also talked to my friends about what brassieres they were wearing. And that gave me some new options to try out. I discovered Savage by Fenty makes great bras. And I love the inclusivity of the brand. I recommend asking your friends what they are wearing. And to research other brands and see what is out there. There are so many options and for all body types now, that I think anyone should be able to find the perfect bra.
Other advice I have for your undergarment journey:
Replace your bras every 6 months, I know its annoying and pricey but it makes the world a difference.
Wash them in a bag on delicate and don’t dry them- makes them hold their shape and last longer.
Hook your bra together when washing – that way it doesn’t get tangled and all stretched out.

During this weird time, we’re all trying to adjust. And that means adjusting how you normally do dates! If you’re quarantined with your significant other, setting aside the time to still have date night (or day) is important. It helps create a sense of normal and gives you something to look forward to.
So I thought I would share what me and my significant other are doing for date nights during quarantine.
Cook a favorite meal together- pick something you both love to love to eat. This can be a fun evening making a meal together and great quality time too!
Watch a favorite or new show together and make it the coziest spot in town. We started watching Hanninal (we both love the movie Silence of the Lambs) and we watch maybe 1 or 2 episodes on certain days of the week. It gives us something to look forward to and lets us spend some quality time together.
Pick a movie series to watch and only watch it on certain nights. Get all the supplies you need like blankets, snacks, and drinks. Put down the phone and cuddle up on the couch to watch the movie. Pretend like you’re in your own private movie theater. Currently we are watching all the Marvel movies in chronological order and it has been something to look forward to during the week!
Order from your favorite takeout spot– this is a great way to support your favorite local spots and also create a date night at home! We’ve done this a few times and it always is a nice date!
Have brunch together! We have been taking advantage of this while we’re both at home. Normally we can’t do brunch together because of our work schedules, but now we can. We’ve been cooking brunch ourselves, but you can also order from your favorite breakfast spot. Dedicate and hour or two for this one morning and enjoy!

A few weeks ago…actually back in February I wrote about my pre-moving tips. And now after finally moving into my new place I have some more tips I’d like to share. Because moving is truly an art, that I don’t think anyone has mastered.
Think you have enough boxes or bins- get more, many more. You might think you have enough but you don’t, at least thats what happened to me. Now thankfully we had some overlap between places and could unpack and then reuse the boxes, but that isn’t always the case. The more boxes the merrier.
Hire movers if you can afford them. I had movers for the first time this move and the definitely made the difference. And this made a big difference in the efficiency of being to move everything, especially the larger items. (Sidenote: I had to move during the pandemic and thankfully my movers were still able to come. They wore gloves and I only had them move the very large pieces. I had moved most of our small items before they arrived.)
Pack a bag with all the essentials you’ll need. A friend mentioned this as a great idea and I’m glad I followed her advice. I used my travel kit I always have ready to go and made sure to pack some clothes and shoes in a bag. Then I packed up everything else and was able to find all my necessities like makeup and medicine after getting to the new place.
Overlap between places can help make moving less stressful. Lucklily enough there was about 5 days of overlap between me getting the keys to my new place and moving out of the old one. It definitely reduced my stress and helped me clean both places.
This is for all my pet parents- but have a plan of attack for moving your little furry friends. Moving one cat can be stressful enough but moving three is….well purrfectly awful. Haha see what I did there? Before the move we decided what day the cats were going to the new place and made a list of everything we needed to bring. I also packed things that smelled like me and knew the cats would want. A new place can seem very scary to them, but having a familiar smell can help ease the stress.

Hello everyone! In light of what is going on in the world I took some time this past week to prep for the next few weeks and rearranged my upcoming blog posts. I’ve decided this week I’m going to share my top tips for working from home. After working from home for an entire week I think I have nailed down a routine that works for me. Hope you enjoy and stay safe everyone!
Have a designated space for where you work from home. Even if this is your couch, (but I try to avoid working from the couch- makes me more productive) having a specific spot where you are going to work from, I think is important. Designating a specific space as your office allows you to keep some normlcy while working from home. I make sure the area I am going to use as my “office” is clean and has everything I would need at my reach. And this is also helpful if you are going to be working home with others. Each having your own space for work will help you feel less on top of each other.
Make it comfy. One of the perks of working from home is you can wear what you want. Dress in sweats if you feel like it. Use all the pillows and blankets to get cozy. Make working from home as comfy and cozy as you want it to be. The
Keep a schedule/routine. If you have a particular routine during the work week try to keep it as much as possible. I think this helps create some normalcy and keep you on track for getting your work done. I wake up and get “ready for work” which consists of me getting dressed in clean sweats, brushing my hair, maybe applying some makeup, making coffee, checking my phone, and then I head to my “office”. It definitely helps make working from home more normal.
Take breaks. Working from home may be an adjustment for some. So if you find yourself getting distracted from work, take a break. Maybe you organize a drawer you’ve been meaning to or you go on a quick walk. Whatever you decide to do, taking a short break can help you refocus and get back to work.
Maintain regular working hours. This may be part of keeping a schedule/routine but I think working during your usual hours helps keep things balanced. There definitely is a lot of flexibility in which hours you work if you work from home, but if you want to maintain a work-life balance this is a must.

Hello and happy Sunday. It also happens to be International Women’s Day! Yay women! I thought I would make today’s blog post a thank you to all the great women in my life. I have a lot of strong women in my life who have helped me get to where I am today and I am so grateful for that.
My mom- who has been probably my greatest support throughout my life. She always has been there for me through it all and I am forever grateful for her.
My grammy- she is where I get my feisty and spunky side from. She is a small woman, very petite, but she is strong and mighty when she needs to be. And she has taught me how to be as well.
My group of girlfriends- these girls have been through some of my worst and some of my best times. They are my extended family and are always there when I need them. They make me laugh and cry. They are truly the best friends I could have.
My aunts- I have quite a few and they are all like second mothers to me. They support me and love me like I am their own daughter. And I know I can always count on them for help.
And finally, to all the other women out there, who may be leaders, entrepreneurs, fighters, caregivers, and anything in between. I appreciate all you have done for us other women and will do for us in the future.
Sorry for the delay, it was 50 degrees in MKE yesterday and I had to enjoy it. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming. Wow even with that extra day, this month still flew by. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites from the past month to share with you and I hope you enjoy.
Aveda’s Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair– I have been using this since about September when I got it in my Fab Fit Fun box. I ran out at the beginning of February and knew after not using it for a few days I needed to buy it. It has totally helped repair my hair after going much lighter. I would totally recommend this product to anyone looking to reduce breakage and help detangle those tresses.
Lululemon Uplifting Scrunchie– I have many a scrunchies but I always grab this one. It holds back all my hair, but doesn’t ever leave that dreaded ponytail dent. It comes in tons of colors, dries fast if wet, and is all around the perfect scrunchie.
Airpod Pros– these are AMAZING! I didn’t know if I would love the wireless headphones, but I don’t think I could live without them now. I love the noise cancellation feature. It’s great for tuning out background noise so you can get work done. And they have a customizable fit so they can fit any ear. That was always a big compliant for me with headphones. But now I’ve found my dream pair.
Colourpop Super Shock Blush– To round it out I must talk about this new blush I got earlier in February. I have the shade Prenup and love this color and formula. It’s a cream powder that makes my skin glowy with a natural flush. And I love the price. Only $8!!

In about a month I will be moving and for the next few weeks I will be sharing my moving journey on my blog. For my first moving post I am going to share my pre-moving steps. I start these about a month and a half to a month before my move to help ease the dreadful task of moving. I have moved quite a bit in the last 10 years so I think I have finally found a good routine.
Plan how you want to move. I think this is an important first step to take before every move. Plan when you want to move, if you want to hire movers or not, and the timeframe you want to move everything in. Do you do it all in a day or over a week? Having a plan in place will ease an already stressful situation.
Start saving boxes. We all order items from Amazon and instead of getting rid of those boxes, save them for the move. Also try to save any packing material that may come with these boxes, it makes it way easier to pack delicate items. If you need more boxes try getting some from your local grocery stores or even work. There’s usually boxes you can grab for the taking. And if you want to get something that might last longer than 1 move, plastic bins you can grab at Target or Walmart are also a nice option.
Purge, purge, purge. I always start going through all my things and get rid of anything I am not using or don’t want to move. I think this can make it so much easier to pack. And I think it is a much better idea to do it before you start packing so you don’t feel the panic of doing it while packing.
Organize while purging is another step I take the time to do. It helps me pack much more efficiently and then I can label boxes better. I usually do this about a month before I move.
Then I like to start packing all my non-essential items. It makes me feel so much more prepared to move if I start packing in advance. Then towards my move date I don’t feel as rushed. I usually start packing non-essentials 3 weeks out.
